Merry in MilTon Home Decorating Contest
Guidelines & Registration
The Merry in Milton Home Decorating Contest invites all residents of the Milton School District to participate. Entry is completely free! Participation is voluntary, and anyone in the Milton School District who loves decorating for the holidays is welcome to join the fun.
The contest is for outdoor decorations only and must be family-friendly, with no political or controversial decorations.
- Entry Cost: Free for all residents within the Milton School District
- Voluntary Participation: Open to anyone in the Milton School District interested in spreading holiday cheer.
- Registration Opens: November 18th, 2024 thru December 15, 2024
- Decoration Setup Deadline: End of the day on December 15th, 2024
- Voting Period: December 17th – 22nd, 2024
- Winners Announced: December 23rd, 2024
Categories and Prizes
The voting categories this year are:
- Most Festive: Recognizes the home that fully embodies holiday joy with lights, music, and decorations.
- Best Themed Display: Awarded to the home with a cohesive theme, whether it's based on a holiday movie or winter wonderland.
- Most Traditional: Honors homes that capture the essence of classic Christmas decorations.
- Most Creative: Given to the most unique and imaginative display.
- Best Use of Inflatables: Celebrates bold and fun displays using inflatable decorations.
- Best Door/Entry Display: Highlights the most welcoming and beautifully decorated front door or porch.
- Best Religious-Themed Display: Recognizes homes that thoughtfully represent the spiritual meaning of Christmas.
Contestants can only be named a winner in one of the above categories, with winners chosen by most votes. In the event a contestant has received the most votes in multiple categories, they will only be named the winner in the category they received the most votes in.
- People’s Choice Award: Voted on by the community via social media and online.
Any contestant is eligible to win the People's Choice Award even if they have won in any of the previous categories.
Prizes: Sponsored by local businesses.

- Online Voting: Limited to 2 votes per IP address.
- Social Media Voting for People's Choice: Public voting links provided via social media.
